Shop Sign

YO YO YO,
I have returned home to the ceramics workshop and had an idea to make a ceramic tile sign for our shop... it could be propped on the table or whatnot to draw in the punters. Though the merchandise will nicely do that too of course! However, I wanted to float the idea with y'all before trying it out. Don't want to be taking over like. Maybe we could have some rotating/multiple signs on the go??
let me know friends!

I'm fine with it - I think that's a great idea! It will really draw people in.

go go go! do it! that would be lovely. i know that recently i have been a harbinger of doom with the boring website stuff but i was thinking that we should get together soon ish to discuss shop plans...it would be crap to have a beautiful show and a disorganised shop tacked on the end.

Excellent,thanks for the encouragement! Yeah I agree, we should make some decisions about how to put it together in the most 'sleek' and 'cool' way possible. And D&AD too... better think about that one, eh? I'm away for a while, back on friday I reckon..

What about next weekend, then? Are people free to discuss shop things?
And Lizzy you have not been a harbinger of doom... more like a sigh of relief that we're not leaving things up to the tutors!

A shop sign sounds great. Although I think I remember Stewart Cordiner saying something about us not being allowed to advertise the shop - it might be a good idea to keep the sign secret from the high heidyins and just put it out when the show opens before they have a chance to complain.

yep sounds good to me. i'm going to e-mail jim about d&ad to ask about what we can put up, and how many things. and about the self in your previous post lucy, i don't know how secure it would be if just hung from invisible thread? i have visions of it swaying around..... it's quite difficult to get invisible thread to sit well too, as my fourth year partner last year hung all of her frames with it, it was really tricky. but it could work. will let everyone know what jim says.

i meant shelf not self...

I wasn't planning on hanging my self on the wall! That would bring a new meaning to the term "personal project"

yeh go for it grimey, it will look fantastic. i don't think one sign about our shop will count as advertising really will it? i'm sure we can persuade them otherwise if they have issues ;) yeh, how about we meet up this weekend to discuss the shop and D&AD?
